The Blue Earth Tarot is a meditative 78-card deck made using cyanotype printmaking, a photographic process that produces the deep Prussian blue tones that give the deck its name. Created through hand-collaged imagery, each card has a dreamy, slightly otherworldly quality that feels like something between a blueprint and a vision.
The deck follows the Rider-Waite-Smith system while adapting the suit symbols to natural forms: water droplets for Cups, clouds for Swords, sticks for Wands, and hands for Pentacles. The Major Arcana blends nature imagery with inclusive human figures. The result is a deck that feels unhurried and contemplative — one that rewards quiet, careful attention.
Alyson Davies is a visual artist based in Edmonton, Alberta, working within Treaty 6 Territory. Raised in a rural family of skilled tradespeople and craftspeople, Davies brings a maker's sensibility to her studio practice, which centers on painting, cyanotype printmaking, and ceramics. Her work looks at how people connect to nature and to their own personal histories. She holds an MFA from Emily Carr University of Art and Design and a BFA from the University of Alberta, and her work has been exhibited across Canada and the United States.
