The Tarot of the Abyss is a deck that takes the idea of inner depth at face value. Created in pen and ink with a traditional illustrative approach, the imagery is rooted in the Rider-Waite system while placing particular emphasis on the elements and symbols that carry the most psychological weight. The black and white artwork gives the deck an austere quality that encourages careful looking rather than quick reading.
The 80-card deck includes two alternate cards for the Three and Ten of Swords, giving readers options for how they work with what are often the hardest cards in the deck. A 148-page guidebook accompanies the set, and the deck has drawn on over twenty years of the creator's personal tarot practice.

Ana Tourian is an artist, illustrator, and art director who spent years working in a creative agency before returning full-time to illustration and sculpture. She is the creator of several internationally distributed tarot and oracle decks and has been reading tarot for more than twenty years. She lives in New Jersey with her family.
