The Star Tarot takes the natural world, particularly the mountains, water, forest, and night sky of the Lake Tahoe region where its creator lives, as its visual foundation. Cathy McClelland's illustrations are rich with animals, cosmic imagery, and the kind of luminous atmosphere that comes from painting a landscape you know intimately. This second edition has been expanded with new sections linking the Major Arcana to numerology, allowing readers to calculate their lifetime personality card and annual card. Cathy McClelland has drawn and painted all her life, studying illustration at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco before moving permanently to the north shore of Lake Tahoe. The surrounding landscape, including its mountains, forests, water, and night skies, has been her primary creative influence ever since. Her work spans watercolor and dye illustrations, acrylic murals, and painted tapestries, and has consistently explored themes of nature, animals, and the sacred.
