Jean Dodal's Tarot, produced in Lyon between 1701 and 1715, is considered the oldest and most complete surviving example of a Type I Tarot de Marseille. Only two copies are known to exist today, one in the French National Library and one in the British Museum, and this restoration is based on the Paris copy. Artist and esoteric scholar Pablo Robledo brought both artistic skill and deep knowledge of tarot history to the project. Every detail is intentionally preserved, including the visual artifacts and subtle imperfections that are characteristic of original historic decks. These quirks add layers of texture for readers and collectors who appreciate authenticity over sanitization. A small booklet with an introduction and notes on the restoration process is included in the box.
